About this Event
The Yamas & Niyamas
Led by Charlie Harrison, RYT 500
Yoga is much more than what happens on a mat.
Join us for an engaging and accessible conversation around The Yamas & Niyamas: Exploring Yoga’s Ethical Practice by Deborah Adele. Together, we’ll explore the first two limbs of yoga’s eight-limbed path—the Yamas and Niyamas—and what these ancient teachings might have to offer our very modern lives.
Through themes such as nonviolence, truthfulness, contentment, self-study, moderation, and letting go, the Yamas and Niyamas invite us to consider how we relate to ourselves, to one another, and to the world around us. Charlie will guide a thoughtful discussion that brings these ideas out of philosophy and into everyday life.
About Charlie Harrison
Charlie Harrison, RYT 500, has been practicing and studying yoga for more than 20 years and teaching for 13 years. Her approach reflects a deep respect for yoga’s history, philosophy, and cultural roots while making its teachings approachable, practical, and relevant to life today. She brings curiosity, warmth, and an open mind to the conversation, creating space for participants to explore rather than be told what to think.
You do not need to be an experienced yoga practitioner to participate. Whether you practice regularly, are simply curious about yoga beyond the poses, or enjoy meaningful conversations about how we live, you are welcome.
Come having read the book—or simply come curious and ready to explore together.
