Discover how yoga can support the brain in ways that extend far beyond flexibility. In this workshop, we’ll explore what current research tells us about the connection between yoga, the brain, and the nervous system. Drawing from current neuroscience research, yoga philosophy, and more than 20 years as a special education teacher, Karissa translates complex concepts into practical, accessible tools that anyone can use. You’ll learn why movement, breath, and rest can improve focus, emotional regulation, stress recovery, and overall well-being. We’ll also discuss how these practices may be be experienced differently by neurodivergent individuals and why creating flexibility within a yoga practice benefits everyone. This workshop combines education with hands-on experience, allowing you to understand the science while experiencing it in your own body. No prior yoga experience is necessary. Every practice will be accessible, with options offered throughout the evening so participants of all experience levels feel comfortable and supported.
