A Restorative Evening of Movement, Breath & Sound

Oakhenge Houses of Healing | Cambridge, Ontario

An invitation to release tension, reconnect with your body, and come home to yourself.

An Evening Just for You

December can be a beautiful season, filled with celebration, connection, and anticipation. But it can also be a season when our bodies carry more tension, our schedules become overwhelming, and we find ourselves moving from one obligation to the next without a moment to simply be.

What if you gave yourself an evening to slow down?

To breathe a little more deeply.

To move without pressure.

To soften the tension you've been carrying and reconnect with the quiet wisdom of your body.

Join Ariella and Jane at Oakhenge Houses of Healing for a beautiful collaboration bringing together gentle yoga, mindful movement, breathwork, and the deeply restorative experience of therapeutic sound.

Held within the warmth of the Oakhenge Yurt, surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the forest, this evening offers a nurturing space to step away from the demands of everyday life and return to yourself.

The Experience: Movement Meets Sound

This special evening is designed to flow naturally from gentle movement into deep relaxation.

Part One: Yoga with Ariella

Our evening begins with Ariella guiding you through an accessible and restorative yoga practice.

Through mindful movement, gentle stretching, and intentional breathing, you'll be invited to explore how your body feels in the present moment.

Rather than striving for the perfect pose or pushing beyond your comfort, this practice encourages you to move with awareness, curiosity, and compassion.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Gently release physical tension and stiffness
  • Explore the connection between breath and movement
  • Cultivate a sense of grounding and presence
  • Develop greater awareness of your body's needs
  • Create space for relaxation and rest

Whether you are new to yoga or have an established practice, Ariella's session is intended to offer a welcoming opportunity to reconnect with your body.

Part Two: Sound Bath with Jane

As the movement portion of our evening comes to a close, we'll transition into a deeply relaxing sound bath facilitated by Jane of Oakhenge Houses of Healing.

You'll be invited to settle comfortably, allowing your body to rest while the gentle resonance of singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and other therapeutic instruments fills the Yurt.

Sound baths offer an opportunity to step away from constant stimulation and simply receive.

The layered tones and vibrations can support a subjective sense of relaxation, calm, and spaciousness as you allow your attention to shift from doing to being.

There is nothing to perform, accomplish, or figure out.

Simply rest, breathe, and experience the sound.

Why Combine Yoga and Sound?

Movement and sound complement one another beautifully.

Gentle yoga offers an opportunity to become aware of physical tension, reconnect with the breath, and settle more comfortably into the body.

Sound then creates an environment where that sense of relaxation can continue to unfold.

Together, they offer a thoughtful progression:

Movement to soften.

Breath to centre.

Sound to settle.

Stillness to integrate.

This combination invites you to experience the relationship between your physical body, your attention, and your capacity for rest.

Rather than treating relaxation as something you have to achieve, the evening encourages you to create the conditions in which it may naturally arise.

A Space to Come Home to Yourself

At Oakhenge, we believe that meaningful wellness experiences honour the whole person.

Our bodies carry the experiences of our days. The demands of our work, our families, our relationships, and our responsibilities can all influence the way we breathe, move, and rest.

Sometimes what we need most isn't another technique to master.

It's permission to slow down.

To notice what we're holding.

To move gently.

And to remember that rest doesn't have to be earned.

This evening is an invitation to meet yourself exactly where you are.
