About this Event
There has never been a time in human history when teenagers have carried this much.
Stress. Anxiety. Pressure. Comparison. Loneliness. Self-doubt.
And if you have a teenager in your life, you probably already know.
We hear it from parents, we hear it from teachers, and we hear it from teenagers themselves.
“I'm overwhelmed.”
“I can't shut my mind off.”
“I don't feel good enough.”
“I don't know where I belong.”
“I don't know what's wrong with me.”
This isn't happening somewhere far away.
It's happening all around us, and often what do we tell them?
Calm down.
Slow down.
Stop overthinking.
Don't worry so much.
Everything will be fine.
But what if we started before crisis?
What if teenagers had a place where they could learn how to work with what is happening inside them?
Not just be told what to do, but actually be given tools.
WHAT IF THEY LEARNED HOW TO WORK WITH WHAT THEY FEEL?
What if they knew what to do when their body feels overwhelmed?
What if they understood how their breath changes when they're stressed—and how they can work with it?
What if they could recognize when their thoughts were taking over instead of automatically believing everything they were thinking?
What if they could create a little more space between what they feel and how they react?
And what if, over time, that awareness helped them build something even more important: A stronger relationship with themselves.
OVER FOUR WEEKS, WE'LL EXPLORE
BODY
Learning to notice what is happening inside the body and recognize physical signs of stress, tension and emotion.
BREATH
Learning how to use the breath when things feel like too much—and discovering that they have a tool with them wherever they go.
MIND
Exploring thoughts, overthinking, self-talk, comparison and the patterns that can influence how they see themselves.
RESPONSE
Learning to notice what happens before reacting and create more space to choose how to respond.
Through movement, breathwork, meditation, awareness and conversation, teens will have a chance to slow down and actually experience these tools.
We'll practice:
- noticing what is happening in their body
- using their breath when they feel overwhelmed
- becoming more aware of their thoughts
- recognizing patterns of self-criticism and comparison
- creating space before reacting
- paying attention to their emotions instead of immediately pushing them away
- becoming more comfortable with themselves
- listening to what they actually need
- practicing being present rather than constantly caught up in what's next
No lectures about why they should "just relax."
Actual tools they can practice and use.
With practice, they can begin to develop:
More calm — because they have tools for moments when everything feels like too much.
More self-awareness — because they begin to recognize their thoughts, emotions, body signals and patterns.
More self-trust — because they learn to pay attention to themselves instead of constantly looking outside themselves for answers.
More confidence — not because they suddenly stop doubting themselves, but because they begin to know themselves better.
More self-respect — because they become more aware of what they need, what they feel and what matters to them.
A healthier relationship with themselves — one that isn't built entirely on comparison, approval or validation.
And perhaps most importantly:
They begin to realize that they have more resources within themselves than they may think.
Growing up isn't just about learning how to succeed in the world, but It's also about learning how to understand yourself.
