Born in Hubei province in China and moved to Australia in 2011, Ying Tang has always been inspired by nature and the world around her. She blends traditional Chinese style and techniques with those of European schools of art to achieve her own original style. Ying is very much aware of how water flows across different papers and can adapt her works to follow the water. This current exhibition explores eight different themes, from fish to flowers, from mountains to men, and includes some paintings of Warburton and surrounds. Nature has provided inspiration for Ying, not as a photographic or realistic rendering, but as a means for her to interpret what she sees around her. Her interpretations can vary from an impressionistic view of the subject to one that is quite abstract.
Ying Tang's works will be on display throughout the month of November at the Warburton Waterwheel Gallery.
