About this Event
Hosted by RIBA YAPF in collaboration with CIAT Aspiration Northern Region and RICS Matrics North East, for the first time, this evening brings together people working and studying across region’s built environment disciplines.
Rather than another formal networking event, the evening is designed to make it easy to meet people outside your usual professional circle, with exclusive use of STACK’s Sideshow gaming area alongside drinks, conversation and plenty of opportunities to connect.

What to expect
The evening will include:
- Interactive games and activities at STACK Sideshow
- A short welcome and introduction from each participating professional network
- A celebration of the work and achievements of early-career professionals across the region over the past year
- Opportunities to meet students and practitioners from across different built environment disciplines
- Informal networking, drinks and socialising throughout the evening
Who is it for?
The event is open to all, from students and apprentices to chartered and senior professionals, whether you are already a member of any of the participating professional networks or a non-member just interested in learning more.
You do not need to belong to a professional institution to attend.
Whether you work in architecture, architectural technology, planning, surveying, engineering, housing, development, regeneration or another related field, the aim is to create a space where the next generation of the North East built environment can meet, celebrate and build new connections.
Why are we doing it?
The built environment is inherently collaborative, yet our professional networks often operate separately.
This event is an opportunity to bring those communities together, celebrate our collective achievements over the past year, strengthen links between disciplines and create a more connected early-career network across the North East.
It is also an opportunity for students to meet people already working across the industry, learn more about different professional routes and begin building connections beyond their own discipline.
