We will meet at Kartul at 6pm. The session is 2 hours and organized as follows:
Write Hungry*: Using your senses to write description
Description is what makes writing come alive. It gives your readers the "picture in their head." The details you include can provide clues to a character's inner world or hint at events happening later in a story. But description is so much more than simply writing out what a person or place looks like.
In this writing workshop, we'll discuss how you can use all your senses to write descriptions that will immerse your readers in the world of your work. We'll explore the difference between concrete and abstract descriptions and how adding smell, sound, and taste can make your prose come to life.
We'll start out by reading some examples and discussing what makes them work and then we'll do a couple guided writing exercises to try it out for ourselves.
This workshop is for writers of all genres.
