More than 10 years ago, Raiefa and her entire family were displaced from their home in Syria. Today, two of her children (twin girls, Alsafa and Almarwa) successfully wrestled collegiately, and were among the first to wrestle wearing a hijab in Omaha. In the spirit of setting the bar, we will recognize the strength, kindness, dignity, and resiliency of their journeys. Please join us on Tuesday, October 13th for a special evening of Syrian food and community!Raiefa will be preparing and sharing dishes from Syria - food that carries memories of home, family, and belonging. Cooking and pouring her time and heart into every dish is Raiefa's quiet way of saying, “I care about you.” Come hungry!
We'll be serving food that celebrates Syrian culture, and all food proceeds go directly to the family. Tickets are $40.
🚨 The link reflects a ticket time of 4:30pm, however, guests are welcome to come for dinner anytime from 4:30pm-9:00pm that evening. There will be a short conversation with the family at 6:30pm.
