Want to learn more about how you can contribute to strengthening the position of artists in the cultural sector? Meet Platform BK!
Platform BK is an association by and for art workers, based on solidarity, working towards fair practices in a fair society.
After an introduction, we will explore the challenges artists face in a hands-on workshop. Many of these challenges are, in fact, less individual than they may seem.
Inspired by Arpentage, a reading technique developed within the 19th-century workers’ movement, we will explore the power of collectivity and solidarity. Together, we will investigate how we can organise ourselves both within and beyond the cultural sector.
We will then build ‘speculative structures of solidarity’ together. By mapping each other’s individual needs and resources, we will use these as building blocks for collective ‘hacks’ that can help improve our artistic professional practices, our everyday lives, and the world we live in.

Meer weten over hoe jij kan bijdragen aan een sterke positie van kunstenaars in de culturele sector? Maak kennis met Platform BK! Platform BK is een vereniging van en voor kunstwerkers, gebaseerd op solidariteit, die strijdt voor een eerlijke praktijk in een eerlijke samenleving.
Na een kennismaking gaan we in een workshop aan de slag met uitdagingen waar kunstenaars tegenaan lopen. Veel uitdagingen zijn namelijk minder individueel dan ze lijken.
Geïnspireerd door 'Arpentage', een leestechniek uit de 19e-eeuwse arbeidersbeweging, kijken we naar de kracht van collectiviteit en solidariteit. We onderzoeken hoe we ons binnen én buiten de culturele sector kunnen organiseren.
Vervolgens bouwen we samen ‘speculatieve structuren van solidariteit'. Daarbij brengen we de individuele behoeften en middelen van elkaar in kaart en gebruiken die als bouwstenen voor collectieve ‘hacks’ om onze artistieke beroepspraktijk, ons dagelijks leven en de wereld waarin we leven te verbeteren.
