Pitching your book to publishers can be a daunting yet necessary endeavour. This half-day session with author, editor and publisher Cassie Gilmartin will cover what your pitch should include, how to identify who to send it to, and when to send it. See examples of what works.All participants have the option to book a 30-minute zoom consultation with Cassie following the workshop at an additional cost of $75. Bookings can be made at the workshop or by contacting Varuna after the event.

/ ABOUT CASSIE GILMARTIN /
Cassie Gilmartin is an author, editor and publisher with 20-plus years of experience in the industry. She’s been commissioned to write three non-fiction books for NewSouth Publishing, two of which are co-authored and the third as a stand-alone author. She’s been a commissioning editor for publishers and commercial brands, and ran the award-winning magazine Inside History for nine years. She’s a passionate storyteller who loves helping authors see their name in print.

- Parking onsite is limited to individuals with access needs. Please email [email protected] to request a suitable parking spot.
- Drivers can drop off their passengers onsite and then move to the recommended parking area.
- Recommended parking is kerbside on Cascade St (not Sherman Avenue) and walking to Varuna's main entry.
- Varuna's driveway, car park and gardens are uneven and care is recommended when accessing the property at all times.
