About this Event
Becoming well-informed about digital sexual harms is a fundamental component to showcase your trustworthiness as a supportive parent to your teens.
💡Here's why this matters:
Across Canada, teens are facing insurmonutable social pressures to fit amongst their peers, all while navigating unsafe virtual environments filled with classmates with malintent, sexual predators, traffickers, and more.
When teens face online sexual harms (e.g. grooming, intimate image abuse or sextortion) and they don't have a safe space among their parents, they will try to navigate those harms alone.
✅ How we can help you:
Instead of perpetuating this cycle, we want to help you:
- Identify and understand the mechanics of online sexual harms
- Cultivate your familiarity with the strategies of sexual predators and peer-to-peer harm-doers
- Access resources to support your conversations with your teens
- And apply your knowledge through an interactive breakout session
