Body and Spirit, The Sacred Unwinding is a two-hour ceremony- part poetry, part ritual, part guided meditation, held as the season turns from light into dark. It’s built around a simple truth: body and spirit are partners, not opposites, woven together from our very first breath, and gently loosened from one another at out last. We open with poetry and a ceremony honoring life and death, light and dark, body and spirit. From there, we move into guided meditation, breathing into the heart, lungs, brain, gut and skin, and into the five senses, tracing how these partners have carried each other through life, and how they separate safely and with ease when life is complete.
We close with time for quiet reflection and an exploration of how body and spirit guide us all home, not with fear, but through understanding and trust.
This is not a lecture on loss. It’s an invitation to connect- to build a bridge between body and spirit, light and dark, birth and death. When we trust what our bodies do at the end, then we find we can trust them now, with the ability to live spirit led, with lightness and love.
