Join us for an intimate evening with Anishinaabe-Métis Elder Keith Redheart (Mekho Mitè), known to many as Uncle Keith.
Words from the Old Ones is a legacy project to preserve the teachings Uncle Keith has been given by the Elders over his lifetime.
This is an opportunity to sit together, listen, laugh, learn and receive. There will be time for questions.
This evening is being sponsored by the Cumberland Cultural Arts Society and will be professionally recorded in both audio and video.
ABOUT UNCLE KEITH
Keith Redheart (Mekho Mitè) is an Anishinaabe-Métis Elder originally from Manitoulin Island area. He has lived and worked on K’omoks traditional territory, also known as Vancouver Island, for almost 40 years.
Keith has walked the Spirit path all his life. He says he began paying attention to the Elders-the Old Ones-as soon as he could walk. He is a member of the Wolf Clan and was raised off-reserve in the Ontario bush, hunting, trapping, gathering and gardening.
