The world as we know it is ending, and a new one is struggling to be born. The transition is tumultuous. The grief is profound. In these times, many of us writers are left wondering how, if at all, we can harness our words to meet the madness. But, as the great Toni Morrison tells us, “This is precisely the time artists go to work – not when everything is fine, but in times of dread…We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilisations heal”. In this workshop, we will explore how, in times of dread and despair, we might help heal a wounded world through our words.
