Word Got Out is a space for artists to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Whether you're stepping on stage for the first time or you're a seasoned performer, this is your chance to share your talent in front of a supportive crowd.
Our open mic is raffle-style, giving every performer an equal opportunity to take the stage. Everyone who performs receives a free shot, a scorecard with live feedback, and a chance to win prizes including studio sessions, performance opportunities, and features with Chicago artists.
Performances are judged by rapper J. Onyx and writer, creative director, and founder of the To The MOOON Rap Competition, Sareen Equality, who offer thoughtful feedback and industry insight to every artist.
Each season also features an Artist Residency with a live painter creating original artwork throughout the night. This season's featured artist is Art by Jour'ne.
