WARNING ORDER 1 - 17th OCTOBER 2026 - WOOTTON, NORTHAMPTONThe Northampton Branch of the Royal Pioneer Corps Association, in partnership with Wootton Parish Council, will hold a short commemorative event at the Obelisk in Wootton on 17 October 2026 at approximately 1200 hrs to mark the 87th Anniversary of the raising of the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps (AMPC).
The event will be followed by lunch at the Toby.
All are warmly invited to attend. Residents of Wootton and Simpson Manor have also been invited, following their valued support for last year’s event.
Those attending are encouraged, where possible, to wear blazer, medals and headdress.
We will do a group photo after the service.
Former Pioneer personnel who served or trained at Simpson Barracks or 23 Pnr Rgt, and who would be willing to share a short account of life or work there, are warmly invited to get in touch.
We are collecting brief contributions of around two to three minutes.
