In this 2-day workshop, instructor and master woodworker, Carl Durance, will focus on specific techniques used to create decorative ornaments. Topics will include: safety, wood selection, tool selection, sharpening, design considerations, turning techniques, basic pyrography (wood burning), making wire hangers, and finishing. Each participant will have the opportunity to turn three different styles of ornament -- a Christmas tree, a bell with ringer, and a snowman. An overview of other turned-wood ornaments will ignite your enthusiasm to pursue making more ornaments. Ornaments make great gifts for family and friends! This is a two day workshop. Each day will begin at 9:00 am and end at around 4:00 pm. The workshop will be held at Intersections Wood Collaborative at 299 10th Street E., Owen Sound. Beginners welcome!
Workshop Cost: $200. A materials fee of $15 is payable to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop.
