WOODKERN is a seven piece folk band from the South-West. They utilise traditional material from all corners of the folk scene with original songwriting and interpretations, to innovative takes on traditional tunes and songs, creating a sound with an engaging breadth. The majority of the band were raised on the folk scene which has encouraged a strong value for the importance for upholding heritage of folk music.
Over the past summer of 2026 they have been catching attention on the folk scene while doing the festival circuit in the South West at the first Fisherman's Friends Festival, Trowbridge Festival, Sidmouth Folk Festival, and Beautiful Days Festival.
SCRAN is a dynamic young band from the Isle of Man. Ranging in age from 13 to 17, its talented members play, sing and dance. As part of the Culture Vannin's Bree traditional music youth education movement, Scran reflects the flourishing Manx traditional music scene.
The current line-up includes Frank (fiddle), Resa (harp), Fraser (keyboard), Alyth (harp), Daniel (guitar) & Aalish (vocals, cajon & dance). The band is mentored by well-known fiddle and keyboard player David Kilgallon (Mec Lir).
Scran recently thrilled audiences at the Music for Youth Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, following an extraordinary appearance at the Festival Interceltique de Lorient, one of the world’s largest traditional music festivals. There, they made history as the youngest Manx band ever to reach the finals of the prestigious Trophée Loïc Raison competition.
The band were also finalists in Media Isle of Man's Awards for Excellence 2024.
