TOPIC: Change or Continuity in the 2026 Election?
Dr. Blank will give a presentation about the electoral environment in Texas with a particular focus on the attitudes and opinions of Texas voters and their implications for the 2026 midterms. The talk will present the latest from the University of Texas/Texas Politics Project Polling series of over 75 statewide surveys, and will include a briefing on intelligent poll consumption during the remainder of the election cycle.
About the Speaker
Joshua Blank is Research Director of the Texas Politics Project at UT Austin, where he has polled Texans for nearly two decades on the economy, healthcare, guns, elections, and just about every other issue that moves the state. He also directs research for the Texas Lyceum's annual statewide poll. His analysis appears regularly in The Texas Tribune, The New York Times, NPR, Politico, and Bloomberg, as well as local, statewide, and national television. Beyond public opinion work, he has spent 15 years consulting on market research, brand equity, message testing, and crisis communications. He holds a PhD in political science from UT Austin, where his research focused on political behavior and research methods.
