About this Event
Welcome to Women's Stories of Healing
Join authors Danae Ashley, Joyce Parry-Moore, and Brittany Hart for an afternoon centered in hope, reflection, and healing. Though their stories are different, they share the powerful experience of what it means for women to reclaim their voice and sense of self. In addition to speaking about their latest books, the authors will offer unique, interactive exercises for the audience to connect with themselves so they can leave more grounded and equipped for their own healing journeys.
A Q&A panel will follow the author presentations.
*Note - this session will include topics of religious trauma. Grounding and trauma-informed resources will be provided for extra support.
Meet the Authors
The Rev. Danae Ashley is an Episcopal priest, Adlerian psychotherapist, international speaker, and voiceover actress in the Pacific Northwest. Danae uses art, music, drama, poetry, and movement in counseling, spiritual direction, and creation of ritual. She has written for various online publications, as well as being a contributor to podcasts, books, and producing a play about fertility struggle. Danae's book, My Sap is Rising: A Pilgrimage of Holistic Mental Health Healing with Hildegard of Bingen and Alfred Adler debuted in March 2026. When not reading, writing, or speaking about Hildegard, you may find her traveling, making sure Cooper the rescue dog is living his best life, dancing with wild abandon to Celtic music, and serious karaoke. Learn more about her work at www.danaeashley.com.
Brittany Hart is a writer, poet, and pastor whose work focuses on rebuilding after spiritual harm. After six years in a religious cult, she emerged committed to guiding survivors toward self-discovery and hope. She is the author of Surviving Wonderland: A Journey Beyond Control and serves as Connections Pastor at Denver Community Church, where she brings a trauma-informed approach to the work of connection and belonging. Brittany has been a guest on multiple podcasts about religious harm recovery, and her work is oriented around cultivating a gentle space for healing, resilience, and the slow, courageous work of rebuilding a life beyond spiritual control. When not writing or pastoring, Brittany can be found snuggled up with her labradoodle Carmy or lost in a fantasy novel she definitely told herself she'd put down an hour ago.
Joyce Parry-Moore is a writer, voice and life coach, educator, and ordained priest whose work centers voice as a force for healing, liberation, and change. A professional soprano with decades of experience across opera, contemporary music, and interdisciplinary performance, Joyce has taught and led creative work in universities, community organizations, healthcare settings, and sacred spaces. She holds a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling, with doctoral research focused on creative arts therapies and healing trauma after cancer. Through her work with Fill the Room, Joyce invites individuals and communities to reclaim voice—not as performance, but as presence—and to resist the cultural forces that ask us to shrink, blend, or disappear. Her new book, Fill the Room, is both a personal and collective call to resonance.
