Join us on 17 December at Mid Norfolk Shooting Ground for a women's Introduction to Game Shooting - a relaxed, friendly, and supportive day designed to help women of all experience levels learn more about the sport.
What you’ll learn:
- Best practice and shooting etiquette
- Quarry recognition
- What to wear — is tweed really essential?
- Gun safety: holding, loading, and safe handling
- Identifying your bird
- Tipping etiquette at the end of the day
- Choosing the right cartridge and choke for your quarry
- Whether to change chokes between drives
- The role of gundogs and which breeds suit the job
- Responsibilities of beaters and gamekeepers
After the instructional session, we’ll check your guns and head out to put your learning into practice, shooting a range of sustainable ammunition at driven targets.
In the afternoon we will dress and cook game in a tasty and easy to recreate at home way.
All clays and cartridges included.

Important Information:
- Open to women aged 18 and over.
- Open to all abilities.
- Please bring: your shotgun certificate and shotgun if you have them, eye and hearing protection, and a cap.
- Guns must be nitro-proof, 65mm chambers or longer, choked half or less, and either 12, 20 or 28 bore.
- Wear suitable outdoor clothing for the weather.
- There is a café on site or bring a packed lunch along.
