Trade Black Friday shopping stress for a women's winter hiking adventure in Wild Basin, Rocky Mountain National Park.This route includes a peaceful forest, lots of waterfalls, and stunning mountain views.
The road is closed which will add one hiking mile each way to and from.the trailhead.
Distance: 4-5 miles
Elevation gain: ~900 ft
We'll aim to get to Calypso Cascades. The road to the trailhead is closed which adds one mile each direction. So we'll have 2 miles on the dirt road (still beautiful) and 2-3 miles on the trail.
Hike is weather dependent and may be moved to an alternate location if conditions like weather, wind, snow aren't safe.
Please bring your own snacks and water
I'll provide weather updates so please dress accordingly for the weather.
Please bring your own winter hiking gear such as microspikes and poles. Snowshoes may or may not be needed at that time.
