About this Event
What does it look like when a woman refuses to be put in a box? When she takes her passion, her vision, and her relentless drive and turns it into an empire that spans continents, major retailers, and even the Shark Tank stage? It looks like Madia Willis.
A Liberian-American designer, entrepreneur, and disruptor, Madia's journey began at Columbia University and took her around the world, from a study abroad experience in Ghana that ignited her love of textiles to the prestigious halls of Central St. Martins in London. She sharpened her craft at Target, helped launch a $1 billion children's brand at Walmart, and led product development at Five Below before co-founding Black Paper Party, a brand dedicated to making the holidays more inclusive and joyful for everyone.
Today, Black Paper Party products line the shelves of Target, TJ Maxx, Walmart, Macy's, Family Dollar, and Dollar General. Madia has earned three Licensing Excellence Award nominations, been celebrated as a Change Maker by License Global, named a SHE-EO Business Disruptor by Ebony Magazine, won the inaugural Macy's Workshop pitch competition, and sealed a deal on Shark Tank.
She is not just building a brand. She is building a legacy.
Join us at Toledo's Share Prohibition Speakeasy for an intimate afternoon with one of the most dynamic women in business today. As part of our Women, Wine, in the Room series, Madia will share her story, her wisdom, and her SHE-EO energy in a setting designed for women who are ready to be inspired.
