About this Event

Mountains to Sea are supporting Auckland Council and Boffa Miskell to host this special event focussed on connecting, learning and supporting the continued development of women working across resource management in Aotearoa. Coinciding with the annual NZARM Conference, Women Shaping Our Resource Management is an opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, hear from women working across the sector, reflect on your own practice and learn from the experiences of others.

Who is this event for?

If you’re a woman or gender minority working across land, water, environmental restoration, planning, primary industries, roading and infrastructure, science, policy, community partnerships or the wider resource management sector, at any stage of your career, this event is for you.

Whether you’re early in your career, an experienced practitioner or in a leadership role, the evening provides an opportunity to learn from others facing similar challenges and opportunities, exchange ideas and consider different approaches that could strengthen how we work individually and collectively across the sector.

What to expect

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Alia Bojilova for an inspirational address on resilience, drawing on her extraordinary experiences and insights into leadership, adversity and human performance.

This will be followed by a panel conversation featuring women working across different parts of the resource management sector:

  •  Ashishika Sharma – Built Environment Adaptation Manager at Auckland Council
  •  Suzanne O’Rouke – National Environment Policy Manager at Fonterra
  •  Rachel Kelleher – Director of Community at Auckland Council
  •  Abi Croutear-Foy – Chief Executive Officer of AquaWatch
  •  Hanna O’Donoghue - Landscape Architect at Boffa Miskell

Our panellists will share experiences and lessons from their careers, including perspectives on leadership, professional growth, navigating challenges, adapting to change and continually improving how we work.

The conversation is intended to be practical as well as inspiring – providing ideas and perspectives that attendees can reflect on and apply within their own roles and careers.

There will also be plenty of time to network, meet new people and learn from others across the sector throughout the evening.

Food will be provided thanks to our generous sponsors, and drinks will be available to purchase from a cashless bar during the event.

Over $4,000 worth of raffle prizes

We’ll also be holding a raffle on the night, with more than $4,000 worth of prizes generously donated by businesses and organisations supporting the event.

Our raffle supporters include Moodi, Oh Natural, Serenya Hair, SOHO Wines, Baby Buck, Spicy Kiwi Co, Bees Favour, Little Batch Wax Co, Foundry Chocolate, and Wilderlab, alongside other generous contributors.

Remember to bring some cash on the night if you’d like to enter the raffle!

All raffle proceeds, along with profits from the event, will be donated to Women’s Refuge.

Thank you to our supporters

An event like this wouldn’t be possible without the organisations getting behind it. Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust are grateful to Auckland Council and Boffa Miskell for supporting the event, as well as Terra Pura Consulting and Adaptive Environmental, for helping us create an opportunity for women across the sector to connect, learn and invest in their ongoing professional development.

We also extend a huge thank you to all the businesses that have donated raffle prizes and supported our fundraising for Women’s Refuge.

Come and be part of it. Come along to build your network, hear different perspectives, share ideas and learn from the experiences of women working across resource management in Aotearoa.

We’d love to see you there.
