*Back to School: Get Back on Your Bike!*Has your road bike been sitting in the shed, gathering cobwebs? Need a little motivation to get back in the saddle? Or simply fancy a skills refresher?
Then our Back to School session is for you!
Join us for a special women-only coached session on our floodlit velodrome, with a focus on bike handling, confidence and fitness. Whether you’re relatively new to cycling or an experienced rider looking to brush up on the basics, you’ll be made very welcome.
Seniors, Juniors and Youth riders (minimum age 14) are welcome. Non-members are especially welcome.
*What to expect*
Led by British Cycling-trained coaches, the session will combine bike-handling skills with fitness and endurance work. You can expect to:
-Ride together as a group
-Work on cornering, positioning and pedal technique
-Take part in sprints, solo efforts and team efforts
-Develop your bike-handling skills and confidence
-Enjoy a friendly, supportive and encouraging atmosphere
There’s something for everyone, whether you’re getting back into cycling after a break or looking to sharpen up your skills.
*What to bring*
Any bike will do for this session — you don’t need a specialist track bike.
Please bring:
-A helmet
-Cycling mitts/gloves
-Your bike
-Plenty of enthusiasm!
The session will run rain or shine. You’ll be able to leave extra layers at the side of the track after the warm-up, or bring them with you as needed.
