A FinTech Australia Breakfast focussing on Women in Fintech and the pathways to change the superannuation gap.
About this Event

The fintech industry spends considerable time producing products, services and tools to improve the financial wellbeing for Australians – yet are we ignoring one of the greatest financial challenges facing many Australians – that of the gender pay gap and the retirement gap? Women retire with 35% less superannuation than men, and despite the complex and often inter-related problems that contribute to this gap, is the fintech sector yet to crack this nut or have we put it in the too hard basket?

To be able to improve an issue that impacts 50% of the population it’s vital that we first understand the drivers (and the myths) behind women and their super. This session explores the factors underpinning why women are often so much further behind financially than men, and while we’re ‘fixing the system’ at the political and social level, what can we do to help bridge the gap starting today.
