Wed October 21 – 7:00 – 9:00 PM - WNC Songwriter Sessions and The Brandy Bar + Cocktails host an evening of original songs in the beautiful, historic Brandy Bar's natural listening room acoustics, with Davis Marshall, Bett Padgett & Annie Wenz.Another 3rd Wednesday looms into view and that means another delight filled evening of original songs performed by the very humans who created them. Here’s who we’ve got lined up this month:
Davis Marshall’s music is rooted in a deep love for storytelling, melody, and the timeless connection between people and song. Influenced by the improvisational spirit of the Grateful Dead, the poetic honesty of Townes Van Zandt, and the lyrical depth of Bob Dylan, Davis draws from a rich songwriting tradition while developing a voice of his own. Music has always been an important part of his life, and songwriting gives Davis way to turn experiences, emotions, and observations into something lasting and meaningful.
Bett Padgett is an award-winning songwriter "edutainer” fusing history, music, and storytelling to address issues with wit, heart, and unapologetic honesty. She uses capo wizardry on guitars in alternate tunings, transitioning between claw-hammer banjo, mandolin, piano and harp. She draws inspiration from Celtic, Old-time, New Age, Folk and rock genres. She also plays spoons.
Annie Wenz is an internationally touring singer/songwriter, whose music blends roots, Americana, folk, blues, chuckles, world rhythms, & often storytelling that gasp her mama. Her music has received airplay on SiriusXM & radio stations internationally. She has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., as well as festivals, theaters, arts centers, and special events throughout the US and abroad.
