Sonora Tukukuy is a Miami-based music collective known for its modern take on roots cumbia, blending traditional Latin American rhythms with contemporary sounds that reflect the energy and diversity of Miami.
The group’s sound is enriched by the diverse backgrounds of its members, who come from several Latin American countries and beyond. The result is an infectious musical mix that honors cumbia’s roots while pushing the sound forward, vibrant, rhythmic, and made for dancing.

McKinley James brings raw tone, dynamic energy, and effortless old-school cool to a sound rooted in blues, soul, and rock & roll. From Rochester, New York, to Nashville, James honed his craft at Easy Eye Sound Studio, working under the mentorship of GRAMMY Award-winning producer and The Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach.
After a standout performance at WMNF’s Tropical Heatwave, McKinley James returns to Tampa Bay to open the night at Skipper’s.
