Art, conversation, and reflection on one question: what does Canada mean to you? Reserve your spot before it's too late.
About this Event
With Love, Canada returns to Calgary for the fourth stop in a national series.
Every Canadian alive today is shaping this country. Not passively, but actively. Through the choices we make, the communities we build, the conversations we have and the ones we avoid. This exhibition asks you to consider your part in it. What version of Canada are you building?
Numerous Calgary artists have responded to the question at the heart of the series: What does Canada mean to you? Their work lines the walls as a reminder that Canada is ever evolving, and that we are the ones still writing it's story.
This is not an exhibition you simply observe. Throughout the evening, interactive survey stations invite you to weigh in: what keeps you here, what you hope Canada looks like in twenty years, what you would change if you could, and what you would protect at any cost. Your responses join a growing national dataset gathered in every city the series visits. By the end of the tour, we aim to have recorded more than one million Canadian voices. Making it the largest open conversation about Canadian identity ever assembled.
Original works by the exhibiting artists will be available for purchase throughout the evening. As well, items from the artists and community businesses have generously donated items for a silent auction.
Doors open at 7:00 PM, with remarks at 7:45. Please plan to dine beforehand; light refreshments will be served.
Come for the art. Stay for the conversation. Leave something behind.
