We thought Samhain, as the Celtic New Year, would be a great day to host a Witchy Wares Swap or a Witch's Bazaar. This event will be free to attend and take place from 5-6pm on November 1st. (After our grimoire making class. This event will take place at one specific time so please make sure to be in the studio for the swap prior to 5:15. Late submissions may not be able to be included. No money will be exchanged during this event!
Rules: Please bring 5-15 witchy or spiritual items to trade. (No more than this as we plan to host this quarterly/seasonally!) Please only bring functional and clean items. No open food or drink products, including teas and tinctures. No unlabeled items. No stained items. No partially used items, broken tools, burned candles, etc. Items do not have to be the exact same. (you can bring 1 deck, 1 crystal, 1 book, etc)
Items to bring can include: crystals, tarot/oracle cards, incense (can be opened but not missing a significant amount), unburned candles, altar cloths, books, sound cleansing items (bells, bowls, etc.), homemade potions and spells (labeled only!) cleansing wands, dried florals, witchy/spiritual art/craft work, bones, trinkets, etc. Even items that may not traditionally be considered "witchy" like altar items, trinket trays, boxes, small shelves for holding trinkets, etc. Even items tied to a god or goddess like pomegranates for persephone or old keys for hekate, etc.
Lastly, we will have a cleansing space set up so everyone can cleanse their items before leaving the studio. We will have moon water, sound cleansing, and smoke cleansing options available!
This will be a blind trade, meaning you will not know who contributed each item. The goal is to keep the exchange fun, fair, and free of any pressure or awkwardness.
Items will be organized into tiers to help ensure a fair and equitable trade. For example, a crystal tumble and a tarot deck would not fall into the same trading tier. The complete trading guidelines will be shared at the event so everyone knows what to expect.
We will have some snacks and teas provided but please feel free to bring something to share! Let's make this a fun and free community event!
