Programme:
Joss Smith - Life inside a Viola (World premiere) | Viola and 4-channel electronics
Life inside a Viola is a new piece written for Þórhildur Magnúsdóttir which imagines placing the audience inside a giant viola, surrounding them with the viola’s resonant frequencies. The piece explores this imagined space from three perspectives: The ambience of the room, Þórhildur’s live performance, and sound emanating from a viola suspended over the audience.
Signe Heinfelt – Fairies (Danish premiere) | 3D Multichannel
Fairies delves into the auditory world of English folklore and the belief in fairies. Inspired by field recordings from locations known for contemporary fairy sightings, the work intertwines the mystique surrounding the legendary creatures with the natural soundscape of their alleged habitats.
Signe Heinfelt – Witchcraft (World premiere) | Accordion and 4-channel electronics
Witchcraft is a piece for accordion and live electronics written for Manca Dornik, which explores the sound palette of the accordion to evoke the sound of witchery as it is portrayed in mainstream media; spells, maleficence, magic, mystic and wonder.

Artists:
Þórhildur Magnúsdóttir is an Icelandic violist, improviser and performer currently based in Copenhagen. She is an active performer of new music and has worked with ensembles such as K!ART, Who Killed Bambi and Ear Transplant. Her projects include the unconventional string trio Tríó Sól and Spönn collective. Since 2025, Þórhildur has also been part of Feluleikur, a concert series presenting performances in unconventional and abandoned spaces in Reykjavík.
Manca Dornik is a Slovenian accordionist who graduated with disBncBon from the Sibelius Academy, where she studied in the class of the Finnish accordion pioneer Prof. MaK Rantanen. As a soloist, she has appeared with many orchestras, including the Jeanner Philharmonie, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Filharmonia Śląska im. Henryka Mikołaja Góreckiego, the Slovak Sinfonieda Žilina, and the Symphony Orchestra of the Conservatory and Ballet Ljubljana.
Joss Smith is a Welsh composer and performer who works within various media, ranging from purely sound orientated works to electronic music, instrumental theatre and performance art. A linking factor between these different approaches is the use of expectation and insistence to build tension and subvert the compositional trajectory.
Signe Heinfelt is Danish composer and sound artist. After finishing her studies in electronic music at The Danish National Academy of music she is now studying classical composition at the Royal Academy of Music. She has written for Insimul Sinfonietta, ensemble K!art and Duo Bragi. She has been exhibited in Nikolaj Kunsthal, Kunsthal6100 and Kvindemuseet (KØN).
