About this Event

Join us for our new series of workshops looking at how we can use herbs in our day-to-day life to support our health and wellbeing. Each workshop will focus on a different way of preparing herbs. Over the course of the workshops, we’ll discuss lots of different plants – both wild and cultivated – looking into their medicinal qualities and traditional uses. At each session, you’ll make a different preparation to take home with you.The sessions are 45 minutes long, so perfect if you want to step away from work at lunch time to do something creative and relaxing. You can attend all sessions, or book them individually.

Jan 15th - Fire Cider – the perfect winter immune tonic! Fire cider is a powerful concoction, used in many cultures around the world. We’ll discuss different variations of this popular remedy, and you’ll prepare your own jar of fire cider.

Jan 22nd - Oxymel – we’ll discuss how to prepare this ‘food medicine’ and have an in-depth look at the qualities of particular herbs that can be included.

Jan 29th - Syrup – learn how to prepare a syrup, and make your own immune-boosting syrup to take home with you.

Feb 5th - Tinctures – learn how to make this concentrated herbal preparation.

Feb 12th - Sugar scrub – in this workshop, we’ll have a deep-dive into the properties and uses of lavender. Using lavender grown and dried at the project, we’ll make a beautifully scented sugar scrub for you to take home.

This workshop will take place in the Pavilion at Vine Road Rec.
