About this Event
This is a moment to pause and take part in a special reflection and seasonal meditative ritual. It comes during a time of year that can often feel very busy in the human world. Meanwhile in the natural world everything is slowing down, rooting down or dying back. As we approach the darkest days, we celebrate the little light that there is and look forward to its return.
During our time together, Celebrant Joy of Rooted Ceremonies will guide us in a quiet reflection on the year, and invite us to think about what we are ready to let go of, what we would like to cherish, what we are longing for or looking forward to. Borrowing from the Waldorf practice of walking the winter spiral, we will then walk into the centre of the spiral laid out in greenery on the floor, and light the first candle in the centre. We will then each walk in, light our own candle and walk out, placing it somewhere in the spiral.
If you want to get an idea of this event, this video was beautifully captured last year by filmmaker Ariz Saifi, Ryzn Studios.
This is a sacred moment within our Seasonal Abundance programme, and follows our weekend of Sustainable Wreath Making. We gather in a lot of greenery at this time and we wanted to enjoy its beauty laid out on the ground.
Hot drinks will be provided. The whole event is indoors but will involve walking in between narrow paths of greenery in a gently lit room, and with candles on the floor. Please let us know any accessibility needs and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Please note, babes in arms are welcome to join parents, but we can't accommodate toddlers or over because of the nature and layout of the event.
