✨ The Winter Solstice marks a sacred time of quiet stillness, the deepest pause of the year. We leave behind the fading light of Autumn and enter the quiet dark of midwinter. As the Earth holds its breath in the stillness of the longest night, we are invited to rest in the darkness, channel this introspective energy into gratitude and reflection, and welcome the subtle rebirth of the sun.🌿 Ayurveda, often referred to as the "sister science of Yoga," is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems. Originating in India and practiced for over 5,000 years, it teaches us how to live in harmony with the shifting seasons. The word Ayurveda translates from Sanskrit as "the science of life."
✨ According to Ayurveda the three fundamental qualities of nature are represented by the Gunas. Tamas, Rajas and Sattva.
~ Tamas: inertia, rest and stillness
~ Rajas: movement, energy and desire
~ Sattva: clarity, light and compassion
✨ Embodying the spirit of the Winter Solstice, you will be guided through an exploration of the three Gunas, from darkness to light and finally peaceful contentment.
