Winter Solstice: Flow Into Light - Fire & Sound Ceremony at Carlsbad Beach

Join Yoga In Beautiful Places for a powerful morning at Carlsbad Beach honoring the Winter Solstice, the turning point of the year when we transition from darkness back toward the light. This seasonal gathering invites you to slow down, reconnect with your body, and create space for clarity and renewal through a mindful blend of movement and reflection.
This class is guided by Katie Rose (Owner of Yoga In Beautiful Places) M.A.Ed., RYT-500, SUP Yoga, Sound Healing + Meditation.

We usually set up between Lifeguard Towers 20 and 21, just north of the Alila Marea Hotel.
✨ What to Expect
We’ll begin with a Sun Salutation practice, moving through a rhythmic sequence of 36–54 salutations designed to warm the body, focus the mind, and awaken your inner fire. Each repetition serves as a moving meditation, helping you release built-up tension and restore balance.
Following the flow, we’ll shift into a Fire Release Ceremony, a reflective practice symbolizing transformation. You’ll be guided to pause, journal, or simply reflect on what you’d like to release from the past year: old patterns, habits, or thoughts that no longer serve your growth. As the fire burns, it becomes a visual reminder of renewal and the cyclical nature of change.
The morning concludes with a deeply restorative Sound Bath, allowing your body and mind to settle into stillness. Immersed in the tones of Tibetan bowls, chimes, and grounding vibrations, you’ll rest in the quiet energy of the season; calm, centered, and open to the light returning within and around you.

✨ What to Bring:
- Yoga mat and towel for underneath your mat
- Blankets, pillows, or bolsters (anything to help you feel comfortable on the earth)
- Layers of clothing
- Eye pillow or mask for relaxation
- Water
- Journal & Pen
- An open heart and willingness to release
All are welcome. Come as you are and leave feeling calm, clear, and rebalanced; ready to carry the warmth of the solstice forward into the season ahead.
