Join our community as we celebrate the turning of the Wheel of the Year and mark the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year.As the natural world settles into its winter rest, the Solstice invites us to slow down, embrace the stillness and darkness, and reconnect with the rhythms of the Earth. Just as nature needs this time of quiet renewal before the new growth of spring, we too can find nourishment in rest, reflection... and simply being.
Amidst the busy-ness of the festive season, we invite you to step away from the rush and share an evening of peace and connection.
Together, we'll explore what the Winter Solstice meant to ancient peoples and how we can draw on the wisdom of the seasons in our own lives today. There will also be an opportunity for some gentle inner journeying as we experience the sacredness of this special time of year.
The evening begins at 6:30pm in the Carthouse, where we'll gather in the warmth and share a simple Scotch broth made with fresh vegetables from our organic farm. You're very welcome to bring something to share, but there is absolutely no expectation to do so.
A few things to know:
- The gathering is free, although donations are gratefully welcomed from those who are able to contribute.
- Please bring a tealight if you can, to share in our celebration of the returning light. We'll have some available too.
- We'd be grateful if you could bring your own bowl, mug and spoon to help us keep things simple and reduce washing up! We'll have a few spares on hand.
Community is at the heart of The Fold, and we'd love you to join us as we honour this beautiful turning point in the year, finding warmth in our togetherness and peace in the quiet of winter.
