June 21st 2026 is both the Winter Solstice and The International Day of Yoga To mark these auspicious events we will be holding a Yoga Circle at the
Flowerpot Yoga Shala
Sunday the 21st June at 12 pm.
The winter solstice marks the turning point of the year, the moment when the darkness begins to recede and the light begins to return.
Lets light the candles, sit and share, share our stories, share what it is we wish to release as well as sharing our hopes for what is to come.
Let's share some nourishing spicy chai and delicious morsels.
Lets share a little deep restorative Yoga and intentional offering of peace.
If you have a medicine drum or another instrument we could even share a song or two.
The practice of gathering together to mark the solstice is as old as time.
This gathering together transcends cultures and continents.
Yoga has always honoured the cycles of the Earth and the Cosmos.
The practice of Yoga aims to bring us into harmony with these cycles as well as creating unity between body, mind, spirit and the divine.
People have practiced Yoga for thousands of years with these aims and with the understanding that all we personally gain in our practice radiates out into the world.
This is how we create real, authentic, supportive communities in a fragmented world.
Let's enter into Winter with our spirits nourished and our hearts full.
Come as you are, bring a blanket, a mug and a plate.
Bring a crystal, a feather or whatever.
Wear your woolly socks
