This is an intermediate/advanced-level hybrid class. Beginners should not register for this class. Even if you have some drawing experience, please email [email protected] before registering. CLASS DESCRIPTION
Take your figure drawing skills further with our revamped Intermediate/Advanced Figure Drawing Class! This course offers extended class sessions and a structured, progressive approach to studying the human figure through contour drawing, fluid gestures, advanced figure structure, perspective, and dynamic poses.
Through instructor demonstrations, guided exercises, and individual feedback, students will develop greater control over line weight, improve their understanding of anatomical landmarks, and learn to capture the movement, proportions, and structure of the human figure. Students will also explore drawing fabric folds, placing figures within perspective, and developing stronger figure compositions.
The course will conclude with a Final Figure Painting Project, where students will bring together the techniques learned throughout the semester, from initial gesture drawings and underpainting to the final details of their artwork.
This course uses live nude models. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. An exception may be considered for high school students actively preparing an art portfolio for college or university admission. Please contact us before registering to discuss eligibility.

Weeks 7–10: Dynamic Poses – Figures in Perspective and Fabric Folds
Develop your understanding of the human figure in perspective. Explore how perspective affects proportions, positioning, and movement while learning to draw dynamic poses and understand the structure and flow of fabric folds.
Weeks 11–14: Final Project – Figure Painting Studies
