RSVP by Friday, January 8th at 5:00 PM. Expect a message by Saturday at 8:00 AM if the walk is postponed or cancelled due to weather.
We'll hike all the trails on this 92-acre property located along a 1-mile stretch of Gunpowder Creek. Owned by the Boone County Conservation District, the preserve is home to a beautiful forest, wetlands, pollinator fields, riparian habitat, and many species of native plants and wildlife. The Center is also home to the ruins of the historic Crisler-Gulley Mill which was built in 1817. Our host and guide will be Susan Brown, Conservation Education Specialist.
Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes with good treads. There are only two places where climb or descent is 50-100', so not too hilly. There is limited cell services and no utilities except a porta-potty at the trail head.
Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. All adults will be required to sign a liability waiver.
