Luminary Tree Workshop
Light up your holidays with a handmade ceramic tree! In this one-day class, you'll build your own clay luminary—designed to glow from within when lit with a candle or string lights. Learn how to shape your tree by hand, add texture and cutouts, and create something beautiful to display year after year.
Your instructor will guide you through the slab-building process step by step, from constructing your tree to adding carved details and openings for the light to shine through. Expect clay-covered hands, a calm studio vibe, and a cozy, creative evening.
Your luminary tree will be glazed and fired after class, then ready for pickup in approximately 2–4 weeks—just in time for holiday decorating!

Cost: $50 per person (includes clay, tools, glazing, and kiln firing)
Accessing the Studio
Erie ClaySpace is located on the third floor of the PACA building at 1505 State St., Erie, PA 16501.
The front doors to the building are locked. When you arrive, call (814) 520-5089, and your instructor will buzz you in.
Elevator Access: If you need to use the elevator, please let us know ahead of time at [email protected] so we can arrange assistance. Our elevator is manually operated and cannot be called with a button.
Class Policies
Classes require a minimum of 5 students to run. If Erie ClaySpace cancels a class, you'll have the option to transfer to a similar class or receive a full refund.
Full refunds are available when cancellations are requested at least 48 hours before the class.

👶 Age Limit?
Must be 12+ to join. No alcohol for anyone under 21.
🏺 Do I Need Experience?
No experience needed! Your instructor will guide you through the process, so beginners are welcome.
👕 What to Wear?
Dress comfy! Keep your nails trimmed, tie back long hair, skip the jewelry, and wear clothes you don't mind getting a little clay on.
💔 What If Something Breaks?
We handle every piece with care, but ceramics can be unpredictable. Occasionally, pieces crack or don't survive the firing process.
💸 Refunds?
Full refunds are available if you cancel at least 48 hours in advance.
📦 When Do I Pick Up My Work?
Finished pieces are typically ready 2–4 weeks after your class. Your instructor will provide pickup instructions, and reminder cards are given at the end of class.
