The stark and sometimes snowy landscapes of Winter are blessed with brave and hearty flowers that peak up as Spring approaches to provide some very welcome color.
In this 2 class series, we will cover the basics of brush technique, ink and color application on rice paper and how to create 2 beautiful Winter floral compositions. If you joined the introductory Plum blossom class 12/15, then you already have a wonderful head start and will be able to put those important foundational brush strokes to good use, this time utilizing a full color spectrum.
Our first class on 2/23 will focus on the sweet and delicate Narcissus. These small beautiful blooms emerge out of bulbs to provide some floral joy to our chilly new year and symbolize hope, prosperity and new beginnings.
On 3/2, we will expand into a gorgeous palette of ballerina pink and rich greens for our Winter Camillia. The Camillia has long symbolized grace, sophistication and perseverance since, often it is the only flower that can bloom amidst the challenging Winter weather.
These classes also include optional weekly homework critiques to provide private customized learning and lesson integration. Space is very limited to ensure maximum personal attention.
Tuition also includes a CLASS RECORDING for you to download and review at your leisure.
***If you are just starting your journey with Brush Painting, this step-by-step class series is specifically designed for beginners and will be taught at a gentle pace with plenty of time to practice the various strokes. Leigha will arrive 30 minutes before the first class begins on 2/23 for brand new painters to introduce them to brush holding, preparing and loading with ink to make the most of our class time together.***

The supplies that are included in the Sets are:
Intro Set: An Orchid Bamboo brush, 48 small Practice Shuen sheets of handmade rice paper, Practice Ink, felt for use underneath your paper, a mini pie saucer for your ink and an instructional Orchid and Bamboo DVD from my teacher, the Emmy Award winning master painter Dr. Ning Yeh for reference and practice before and after the workshop.
The Classroom and Recomended Sets include 4 brushes (Pre or Premium brushes) consisting of Happy Dot, Small Flow, Large Flow and an Orchid Bamboo brush and either a 48 sheet pack of double Shuen or a custom roll of handmade Practice Shuen, Jade Plate and Pi paper.
