Science Club:

This is a series of 6, one and a half workshops to teach young students science concepts using hands on experiments. This series of workshops will introduce young students various scientific concepts integrated with many social skills. Students will engage in hands on activities, watch spectacular demonstrations, and work on educational science-themed experiments that will reinforce concepts they have learned. This program will also have a strong focus on building fundamental social skills that will progress and foster the development of social literacy. This series will provide an environment for students to grow through a balanced combination of STEM based learning and social development

Dates: Tuesday 6:00-7:30 pm, January 18, 2022 - February 22, 2022

Eligibility:

  • Participants must be able to safely and successfully participate in a structured 1.5-hour large group program.
  • Participants must be interested in participating in the selected robotics program as well as be motivated to work towards a selected goal actively throughout the session.
  • Children must be the appropriate age to participate in the program or be turning that age during the program (Science Club 6-14 years old).
  • If a child would benefit from and/or require 1:1 support during program in order to participate safely and/or successfully, it is the responsibility of the caregiver to source 1:1 support for the participant prior to clients spot being confirmed. **Note: 1:1 support can not be a direct family member.**
  • As required: Participants must have identified a way of accessing a computer and/or speech generating device prior to the program start date. This may require an appointment with our Assistive Technology Specialist.

Cancellation Policy

Participants will be charged the full program fee if they cancel less than one week before the program start date.

What happens after registration?

Register by purchasing your ticket and completing the order form. You will receive a confirmation and receipt in the mail, or a phone call if more information is required. You will be contacted for a participant screening appointment.

  • Payments will be processed with your registration information.
  • You must complete a intake interview with our Recreational Therapeutic Specialist before the start of the program to complete you participation. The therapist will contact you directly to set up this appointment.
