About this Event
For this class, we'll be answering the spookiest wine questions of all: what is an orange wine, and what's the difference between orange and rosé? We'll dive into the wines that fall between red and white, in all their funk and fermented glory!
While getting into the world of natural, biodynamic, and low-intervention wine, we will also be celebrating Halloween with a Liz's Costume Contest. Wear your costume with extra points if it's wine related (even more points if you're Paul Giamatti as Miles from "Sideways") and the crowd will vote for best dressed. First place receives a very exciting and top secret prize, so play to win or don't play at all! If costumes aren't your (trick-or-treat) bag, come as you are and be ready to serve as our enthusiastic and hard-to-please jury.
Wine 101 is a series run by Liz's bartender Zoe where you'll begin to break down and understand how to talk about wine, identify what you like and what you don't, and get an image of the history and presence of wine in our world. And if nothing else, you'll learn how to a bring a wine to the dinner party that you can be proud about. While covering wine through taste and experience, these classes will also keep a focus on wine making processes and the beverages political history, fluctuating class status, and cultural effects.
Ticket includes tastes of 4-5 wines.
