Willow Harvest Basket - Weaving Workshop
Join us at the turning of the season to learn the heritage craft of willow basketry and create your own oval trug-shaped gathering basket — the perfect companion for collecting the final harvests of the year.
Guided step by step, you’ll discover the age-old techniques of weaving with willow and leave the day with a beautiful, functional basket of your own making. Whether you use it for gathering apples and late berries, carrying garden tools, or as a stunning handmade gift, this basket will hold the memory of the day’s slow and mindful work.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to weave an oval basket base
- How to stake uprights and shape the sides
- How to work aFrench rand weave to form the sides, giving a lovely flowing pattern
- How to lay a border
- How to attach a sturdy woven handle
Whether you’re new to willow weaving or looking to expand your skills, this workshop offers a supportive, inspiring environment to get stuck in and create something truly unique.

No prior experience is necessary. Suitable for ages 14+ (under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult). Please note that whilst this class is beginner friendly, willow weaving does require some finger strength and dexterity and may be difficult or painful for those suffering with arthritis in the hands.
Spaces are limited to keep the workshop personal and hands-on.
