Yule (be) Inspired by Nature at Wildly Crafted! Saturday, November 7, 2026
Join artists and friends Lauren Rae and Reagan Bitler for “Yule (be) Inspired by Nature”, the first in their new Wildly Crafted workshop series.
Our friendship and years spent working in the arts brought us together, but so did a shared love of nature and creating a little outside the ordinary. Reagan introduced Lauren to the wonderful possibilities of working with gourds, and that unusual natural canvas has become another place where our different creative styles meet.
For this Yule-inspired workshop, gourds take center stage alongside wool, foraged natural elements, folklore, and plenty of room for your own creativity. Join us for the morning, the afternoon, or spend the entire day getting Wildly Crafted.
Get out of the noise and into nature through workshopping in the beautiful Codorus State Park’s Classroom on the Loop, where views of the park are plentiful and inspiration awaits.
Morning Session — $55 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM
During the morning session, you'll create:
Yule Bell
Beginning with a gourd as the base of your bell, you'll add natural elements and seasonal embellishments to create your own nature-inspired Yule decoration.
Natural Compostable Yule Garland
Combine miniature gourds with gathered natural materials to create a seasonal garland designed with nature in mind.
Mini Wool Tree
Create a small felted wool tree that can be displayed on its own or decorated with the miniature gourd ornaments created during the afternoon session.
Afternoon Session — $55 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
The afternoon takes our inspiration from nature into some of the folklore and traditions of the season.
During the afternoon session, you’ll create:
Krampus or Belsnickle Ornament
Choose your character and transform a gourd into your own interpretation of Krampus or Belsnickle, two wonderfully curious characters of winter folklore. Learn about their origins and how they’ve become more prevalent in recent years through the art of storytelling.
Six Mini Gourd & Natural Element Ornaments
Create six miniature gourd ornaments incorporating natural elements and your own creative touches. These minis can decorate a tree, be added to your own holiday décor, or become little Yule treasures all their own.
Make a Day of It — $100 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Join us for the full Wildly Crafted experience and create the entire collection. You'll move from nature-inspired Yule décor in the morning into folklore and miniature ornament making in the afternoon, seeing just how many directions a simple natural material like a gourd can take us. The full day includes
A one hour foraging session with coffee and pastries before the first workshop session. Find your inspiration and get to know the instructors.
Lunch from 12:30 - 1:30 PM and additional working time with the instructors.
Nature is often our starting point, but where we take it from there can be unexpected. Come for a session or stay for the day!
