About this Event
Join Toronto Master Gardeners and learn how to identify, sustainably collect and save native wildflower seeds .
The morning begins with a short walk into the Meadoway from the Jonesville Allotment gardens to sustainably collect native wildflower species. Then you will learn how to dry, sort and save the seeds from the flower heads you have collected. Participants can keep a limited amount of the seeds they collect for use in their own garden.
This event is intended for Ages 6+:
- Beginner level information
- Activities and concepts that are friendly for all ages
- Intended audience includes children, youth, and adults

Date and Time: Sunday, September 20. 12.00pm - 1.30pm
Location: Jonesville Allotment Gardens, 50 Jonesville Crescent, ON M1L
Parking/Transit Info: Free, public parking is available in the Golden Mile plaza, a short walk from the allotment gardens. If taking transit, take the # 24A, 24B, 70, 324 or 924 to Golden Mile Plaza, 1880 Eglington Avenue East. The bus stops a short walk from the allotment gadens.
Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine but will be cancelled if there is a chance of thunderstorms or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 9:00am on the day of the event if there is a cancellation. Please direct any questions regarding the cancellation policy for this event [email protected].
Come Prepared
- Please dress appropriately for the weather.
- Ensure you wear comfortable close-toed shoes for the outdoor portion of the program.
- Flush washrooms are located within the Golden Mile Plaza
- Bring a personal water bottle and snacks, if needed.
