About this Event
Oscar Fingall O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (1854-1900) – the celebrated man of wit and wisdom, a lover of fine foods and beautiful things, a prolific poet and playwright.
This guided walking tour takes you to see many of the buildings and locations that Oscar would have known in his lifetime.
We'll start near Oxford Circus, at a place that marks a pivotal point in Oscar's career, before making our way into the West End and Piccadilly to see various places associated with his colourful London career.
Hear about Oscar's life and works and the people who were close to him. See where his plays were staged, where life-changing events happened, and where he lived, shopped and socialised. We'll also look at how he is commemorated today.
- The specific meeting point will be on your ticket (sent via email after purchase)
- The walk ends near Charing Cross station

My guiding style is inclusive, open and friendly. – in fact, the research never ends. The walking tours I offer are all on subjects I am genuinely interested in – each highlights a different facet of my personality. I am specifically interested in the changing face of our streets over time and how those changes have affected local communities and the social history of an area.
