What's our book?
In Communion, bell hooks continues the exploration she began in her earlier work on love, turning her attention to women specifically and the ways patriarchy, culture, and self-doubt have shaped how we seek and experience love. Drawing on feminist theory, personal reflection, and cultural critique, hooks makes the case that true love begins with self-love and self-acceptance, and that women must reclaim their right to a love that is whole and liberated.
