About this Event
Part of the Wild Ouseburn Talks series, hosted in collaboration with Ouseburn Farm, as part of the Wild Ouseburn initiative. Supported by the the Reece Foundation’s Ouse Burn Way fund.
ABOUT THE TALK
Cain and Heather from Wild Intrigue CIC will share how landscape-scale approaches to rewilding, usually applied in the rural setting, can be used to rewild cities too.
For over ten years, Wild Intrigue have worked in and explored rewilding projects across Britain and Europe; meeting ambitious people and being immersed in inspiring landscapes. In January 2024 Wild Ouseburn was launched - an initiative to bring rewilding principles into the heart of the city.
The talk will feature inspiration, discussions and visuals from visits to Spain, The Netherlands, Poland, Germany and throughout Britain, to explore how rewilding efforts have inspired Wild Ouseburn to date - and what the future could look like.
We'll travel through Spain's Asturias Mountains to Poland's Białowieża Forest, pass through a Parisian graveyard, and even venture through a London underpass, along with many other places to understand the various approaches and benefits of rewilding.
