About this Event

The North Florida Land Trust (NFLT) has a long history working to preserve the best of Amelia Island, Nassau County, and NE Florida.

The NFLT has facilitated the preservation of over 3,000 acres in NE Nassau County area, including Amelia Island, Little NaNa Dune, and within the City of Fernandina Beach.

The presentation will provide attendees with an update of NFLT recent successes and continuing efforts. We will also learn some useful tips on communicating the importance of conservation work for the benefit of Nassau County!

Cash Bar and Snacks Available.

Our Speakers: Ramesh Buch, Director of Conservation Acquisitions and Dayna Buckley, Associate Acquisitions Coordinator

Ramesh Buch joined the North Florida Land Trust in 2021 after 36 years of protecting Florida’s landscapes for various government agencies. He has completed 147,000 acres of conservation transactions worth $386 million. Ramesh is a trained facilitator, negotiator, and author, including the recent Common Ground. A Land Conservation Guide for Local Governments. He enjoys the collaborative approach to transactions, loves problem-solving, and negotiating deals, and believes the best solutions are those that make environmental and economic sense.

Dayna Buckley joined NFLT in 2025 and serves as the Associate Acquisitions Coordinator. Dayna came to NFLT shortly after graduating from the University of Florida. It was there that she earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability. Dayna is a North Florida native, local to the Jacksonville beaches area. She was introduced to the world of land conservation through interning with the Alachua Conservation Trust in Gainesville. Within the North Florida Land Trust, she conducts the initial review process for potential conservation properties and thoroughly enjoys conversing with the landowners.
